DARYL GLENN and his co-star, the beautiful and talented Broadway singer/conductor/pianist JO LYNN BURKS return with their popular, critically acclaimed, BISTRO, MAC and NIGHTLIFE award-winning tribute to Robert Altman’s classic 1975 film, “NASHVILLE”. Backed by a 6 piece all-star country band and featuring singer/musician extraordinaire KAREN DRYER, Broadway’s BRAD WILLS and award-winning/cabaret favorite JAY ROGERS its a country/western throwdown not to be missed! Every fabulous song from the beloved soundtrack album will be lovingly recreated including Keith Carradine’s Academy Award winning “I’m Easy”. So, strap on your leather chaps, tease up your hair and head on down!!!
jo lynn burks (co-star, musical director, arrangements, orchestrations)
ms. burks received a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree from the University of Alabama in Music, Dance & Drama (and she was crowned Miss University of Alabama). She then went on to achieve a Master of Musical Theatre Degree from the University of Miami, FL (where she also won the title of Miss University of Miami). Jo Lynn now wears many hats as a musical director, orchestrator, singer and pianist. As a keyboard player and singer she has toured with Gladys Knight, lead singers of The Temptations, as well as a solo tour with Roger Daltrey of The Who. On Broadway, she originated a principal role in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. Other Broadway credits include Smokey Joe’s Cafe, The Full Monty, All Shook Up, The Wedding Singer, The Color Purple and Hairspray. Jo Lynn’s national tours include Fame, Mamma Mia, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, and as a singer/dancer for Fred Waring & The Pennsylvanians. As a singer/pianist Jo Lynn played a prestigious engagement in New York City at The Carlyle, the Waldorf-Astoria as well as other notable NYC nighteries such as The Plaza, The Ritz-Carlton CPS, and Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans. Ms. Burks currently teaches Musical Theatre at the famed School of Music at the University of Miami.
vince degeorge (director, co-writer)
In New York City Vince has created, directed and choreographed shows at The Triad, The Duplex, The Loft, Collective Unconscious, Chashamam and The Metropolitan Room. He is presently collaborating with the writer David Linter and the composer Gerald Busby in developing the new contemporary opera, Wreck. He is a musical theater vocal coach and teaches Experiential Anatomy, Articulated Physical Improvisation and Theatrical Awareness Practices for the creative artist. As a performer he is a member of contemporary dance company: Dre.Dance and has performed in their two most recent full length pieces: The People and Beyond Words. He will next be seen performing in the avant-garde musical theater piece Elephants and Gold at the Berkshire Fringe Festival. He has a BFA in Musical Theater Performance from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and has studied with such noted teachers as Fred Kareman; Deborah Hay; Wendell Beavers, Mary Overlie, Barbara Dilley and members of The SITI Company.
daryl glenn (co-star, concept, co-writer)
hails from lexington, ky. hence his affinity for twangy tunes! it has long been his dream to sing the songs of robert altman’s “nashville” on stage and he is thankful to a whole truckload of people who helped make this dream a reality. when not touring the country in musicals or childrens theatre daryl has managed two sadly-departed restaurants; mayrose and kitchen 22 and wrangled the stars at new york music spot, the metropolitan room! in january 2010, daryl made his debut at the prestigious feinstein’s at loews regency hotel with his acclaimed new show “daryl sings steve” (songs by sondheim) in tribute to his favorite songwriter and friend during the celebration of his 80th birthday!
